Matthew Good Foundation

Why we launched the Matthew Good Foundation

The Matthew Good Foundation was created after Matthew Good’s death in June 2011 during a charity marathon. Matthew was part of the John Good Group family business and had a strong desire to create a positive impact on employees and communities. Currently, the John Good Group covers the foundation’s operating costs, guaranteeing that every £1 donated results in £1 going towards deserving causes. Moreover, JGG annually contributes funds to the Foundation, facilitating charitable giving by the business and its 100 employees.

Donating to special causes around the world

Since its inception, the Foundation has donated more than £913,450 to over 500 good causes in the UK and abroad that are close to our employees’ hearts. Our company is proud to align with the Matthew Good Foundation and provide the financial support necessary to run daily operations, allowing 100% of donations to be directed straight to charity projects and partners.

Empowering employees to make a difference

The Foundation supports our employees’ charitable activity in multiple ways, including monthly draws to win donations for the charity of their choice, championing small voluntary initiatives, double matching staff fundraising efforts, and providing funds and guidance to start their own grass-roots projects.

The Foundation also believes in giving back to the community not only financially, but also in terms of time. That’s why we offer our employees paid leave that they can spend volunteering, utilising their specialised skills and talents to help charities reach their goals.

This is what The Matthew Good Foundation Means to our team:

We do what we say and we do it with genuine meaning and impact!
